Asha Bhavan Centre operates Child Care Institution Children’s Home for CWSN Girls at Kathila, Banitabla, Uluberia, Howrah. Our homes provide complete care, protection, and rehabilitation for children who are abandoned, orphaned, trafficked, surrendered, missing, sexually abused, run away, child marriage and come from families unable to provide proper care.

Our homes provide complete care, protection, and rehabilitation for children who are abandoned, orphaned, trafficked, surrendered, missing, sexually abused, run away, child marriage and come from families unable to provide proper care. 

Since December 2022, Asha Bhavan Centre has been implementing the “Open Shelter” Project under the Mission Vatsalya scheme for the Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) of Ward Number 28, 30, 31 under Uluberia Municipality.

The DISHA Project aims to provide early intervention and school readiness to children with Intellectually Disabled, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Multiple Disability aged 0-10 years. This program is designed in accordance with the National Trust Act. Our centres provide a range of specialized services such as Therapy Sessions, Special Education, Training Programs for Parents, and Family Counselling.

Asha Bhavan Centre operates a Special School under the Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme. It is funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.

Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and shine at their own pace and in their preferred way. Our Special School for Children with Disabilities offers a comprehensive special education program. Today, we proudly serve 70 children with diverse abilities, made possible by generous support from international funding. 

Asha Bhavan Centre has established 10 distinctive pre-primary and primary schools across remote villages in various districts Howrah, Hooghly, South 24 Parganas, Kolkata, Purba Bardhaman, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Cooch Behar of West Bengal.

Asha Bhavan Centre manages a Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) project across three districts namely Howrah, Purba Medinipur and Coochbehar of West Bengal to support persons with disabilities. We help them in meeting their diverse needs. The project provides therapeutic interventions, educational support, aids & appliances, and promotes economic empowerment to improve their overall quality of life.

In the rural villages of West Bengal, thousands of babies are born carrying an invisible risk. Detecting these risks at the early stages may not be possible; however, the window to act is brief. LEAP-CP (Learning through Everyday Activities with Parents) was built to address these situations.

Individuals with disabilities often face unique challenges that impact their daily lives. Their abilities become limited when they try to perform routine activities independently. The provision of assistive devices plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges. 

Asha Bhavan Centre has established 20 community-based Supplementary Education centres in Rural Howrah. They are built to provide additional learning support and guidance to children from economically-stricken and marginalized families. These children mostly study in government primary schools. Therefore, Supplementary Education Programs have been designed to serve these underprivileged children.

The path to independence has never been simple for many young women and women with disabilities. This can change if the right opportunities are gained. This is where Asha Bhavan Centre come into the picture. We operate with the support of the Department of Technical Education, Training & Skill Development, Government of West Bengal.

There are a number of children in our rural communities who face difficulties of reality, as they are born into poverty. They live with disabilities, but still have the zeal to learn. 

The Diploma in Special Education in Intellectual and Developmental Disability provides trainees with a comprehensive understanding of intellectual disabilities and their impact on learning and development.

Asha Bhavan Centre believes every person, regardless of abilities or circumstances, deserves the chance to stand on their own. This is a mission close to the heart of Dr. Shankarnath Mukherjee, his family, and his friends. Together, we have created SADHANA, which is an Inclusive Skill Development and Vocational Training Centre. 

Asha Bhavan Centre, in association with “SADHANA”, supports the integration of the Dairy Farm at the Keoradanga Centre. It is an initiative to combat the malnutrition challenge in India. The Dairy Farm was established in January 2003, and it is a key component of the Integrated Child Development Program.

Asha Bhavan Centre established a philanthropic homeopathy dispensary in August 2022. It is situated in the Keoradanga campus in South 24 Parganas under the mission of SADHANA.

Asha Bhavan Centre believes in a flourishing chance for every child. However, there are thousands of children in the streets of Uluberia who wander begging and involve in child labour.
