Open Shelter

Since December 2022, Asha Bhavan Centre has been implementing the “Open Shelter” Project under the Mission Vatsalya scheme. This initiative plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, care, and rehabilitation of children in vulnerable situations by providing them with a nurturing and secure environment, along with access to education, healthcare, and essential support services.

The core objective of the Open Shelter project is to protect and uphold the rights of children in need of immediate care and protection. The program focuses on rehabilitation and family reintegration, working diligently to reunite children with their families whenever it is in the child’s best interest.

Beyond meeting their basic needs, the project also addresses the emotional and psychological well-being of children through counseling and guidance, helping them heal from past trauma. Furthermore, it empowers them with life skills and vocational training, preparing them to become confident, independent, and productive members of society.
